Quick eco wins to reduce your impact on the environment
Quite often I hear from browsers in my little sustainable living shop that they are unsure where to begin when it comes to reducing your carbon footprint. There’s so much information out there and a lot of false information from climate change deniers that really doesn’t make it easy for anyone to figure out, so then it just turns to overload.
Embracing health and sustainability - Why natural deodorants are the way to go!
For this instalment of the easy eco-swap series I wanted to talk with you about deodorant. Hardly the most glamorous of subjects but an important one considering the amount of plastic that ‘regular’ deodorants and antiperspirants are made from, and also some of the awful and unnecessary ingredients they contain.
Monthly recap: August edition
August. Summer. Holidays. It just hasn’t really happened this year has it? It’s all felt rather glum and gloomy, with hints of sun but it certainly has been wetter and greyer than any previous summer I can remember, but then June was incredibly hot and dry, a clear sign that climate and weather patterns are changing rapidly now.
Despite this I still managed to squeeze quite a lot into August so if you’ll please indulge me I’d love to share some of it with you!

Five great sustainable gift ideas for Fathers Day

All about… soap!
I want to start writing a series of spotlight articles about some of the products I stock, either individually or in groups which is the case today. It can be quite easy when you’re in the thick of it to lose perspective and lose sight of the basics: why some products are better for the environment and what we can do to reduce our impact so I’m really hoping these posts will help with that and we’re starting off today with soap!

Global warming is very real
It doesn’t take much effort to look beyond what we’re putting up with now to see that there could be a better life for everyone with very little sacrifice or hardship, and it would in fact improve the lives of so many, whilst simultaneously improving the lives for future generations not having to cope and deal with the impacts of a 2-4 degree rise in temperature.
Monthly Recap: January Edition
I thought it might be quite fun, and possibly interesting to keep an almost journal of what happens month by month of running my little eco shop and all the other things that go on around that! We’ll ease into it with a fairly short a sweet post for January, and I’ll do better at taking notes in February!
Taunton’s first ever Big Green Week Festival!
So this is a really really exciting development, I’d have never thought I’d be organising something of this magnitude but here I am putting on a day-long festival in the centre of Taunton to celebrate Big Green Week 2023!
Easy eco-swaps - Toothpaste!
This week I wanted to chat about toothpaste. We all use it, it’s part of our daily routine, and that means it is a great opportunity to reduce a lot of waste from your home. Depending on the size and age of your family you could be squeezing your way through a number of tubes a month!
